We’re Moving to a New Online Consultation System: SystmConnect

Starting mid-July 2025, Vida Healthcare will be transitioning from PATCHS to a different online consultation platform called SystmConnect.


Why Are We Making This Change?

Norfolk and Waveney Integration Care Board (NWICB) are changing the way that some of the digital tools that we use are funded. Whilst we have used PATCHS to help us to handle over 13,500 requests in the past year and with over 6700 users we are going to be changing the system we use from mid-July this year, our aim is to make accessing care online easier for everyone, while continuing to reduce telephone congestion and manage appointment demand effectively.

Why are we replacing PATCHS?

Our contract with PATCHS is coming to an end. The ICB are not continuing to fund this system and we are therefore having to change the system. 

What will happen to my PATCHS account and data?

From July 9th, PATCHS will be deactivated, including its link to the NHS App. All historical data is stored within your patient records and will be and removed from PATCHS servers.  

What is SystmConnect?

SystmConnect will be our new online consultation system, developed by TPP, the same supplier that created the patient records system we use. While you may not see the name directly, the system will be fully integrated into our systems.

When can I access SystmConnect?

While we phase out PATCHs, SystmConnect will not be available just yet. We will make it available from the 14th of July, possibly sooner.

How do I access it? Do I need to create an account?

Once available, simply visit our website – click on the link. No account is necessary. However, if you have an NHS login or a SystmOnline account, you can use it to pre-fill your information and save time. 

Is it easy to use?

We believe so and hope that you’ll discover that to be the case, but we will be looking for feedback once implemented. It offers clear, intuitive forms that are easy to complete.

Can I submit a request on behalf of someone else?

Yes, you can complete a form for a relative or someone you care for. Just select the appropriate option when filling out the form.

Will the forms be available 24/7?

Most forms will be available during practice opening hours. To ensure safe and manageable workloads, we may temporarily disable access if we reach our daily capacity.

What if I or someone I care for can’t use online services?

We hope SystmConnect will be more accessible to most patients. However, if you’re unable to use it, you can use the traditional methods of communicating with the practice by telephone or in person. 

What types of requests can I make online?

SystmConnect is for routine, non-urgent matters only. You’ll be able to use it for:

  • New or ongoing health concerns
  • Medication requests or queries
  • Sick notes
  • General admin queries

Can I get help using the new system?

Absolutely. Our team is here to support you. We’re also preparing helpful guides and video tutorials to make the transition as smooth as possible.
